about

In August of 1981, two recently introduced friends, Pridy Strynge (Phil Pratt) and der Dentist (Dennis McKeown) decided it was time to start a band and rented a band house. A singer and bass player were needed so Matt Griffin and Mark Williams were asked to move in to make the lineup complete. The band’s good friend the InHuman (Joel Schenkenberg), always a welcome guest, was also an important part of the lineup. The “Church of Suffering” was the name they gave the house. It was an old two bay garage with a trailer attached for a kitchen and a small addition on the front. The dwelling was dark and dreary, the walls were covered with graffiti and mattresses for sound proofing and severed doll heads hanging from the ceiling. Next door a pack of dogs lived in total filth and when one dog would crap, the others would run over to eat the poop as it came out. No matter how bad or difficult life got the guys could look out the kitchen window and see that things could be a lot worse. People were scared when they came over to the house, so to put them at ease the visitors would be asked to perform something and everything was recorded. So started the Festering Sores! ENJOY!
